Harvest Host Fest 2021
Move over Coachella. Say bye Stagecoach. La La La LATER Lalapalooza! There’s a new fest in town and it pairs nicely with a practice-retirement lifestyle.
(And guaranteed it’s better than Fyre Fest!)
Say hello to Harvest Host Fest 2021!
Getting your tickets is simple. No need to camp in line at the box office. But do be prepared to camp on a vineyard!
Here’s the deal. We signed up for this service Harvest Host a while back. The most committed of you readers may remember that, indeed, we are wine snobs, and so the idea of a service that would provide both a camping spot and a chance to enjoy some of the local viticulture around the country was an easy sell.
So for our last week in the Central Coast, we made Paso Robles the inaugural venue for a Harvest Host Palooza! The lineup was liiiiit!
Day 1 - Opening Act: Tobin James Cellars
It’s the opening act baby! Come for the party and leave with some champagne to pour in your rose! It might have been a Wednesday at 3pm, but that didn’t stop us and the other 30 retirees from kicking off the loooong weekend with some healthy pours and lots of laughs. This opener is gonna get the crowd stomping and the beat boppin!
Day 2 - Pace Yourself: Dark Star Cellars
Day 1 was next level, so Day 2 is when the adults remind themselves that Harvest Host Fest is a marathon, not a sprint. There’s no better way to keep the spirits alive, and your liver too, than with a mellow trip over to Dark Star Cellars. Sure, you see that they have an axe-throwing area. But that’s a single-day ticket holder activity. For those of us committed to the journey, it’s all about the patio seating and crossword puzzling.
Day 3 - Drop the Beat: Bon Niche Cellars
Bring your sun hats, your favorite crop tops, and some glitter in your hair. Bon Niche Cellars is the headliner you’ve been waiting for and she does not disappoint! But actually this is grown up juice, so leave the crop tops and glitter at home. VIPs get the amaaaazing Malbec Rose, and if you can score a backstage pass you can even pet the adorable dog, Barley! Woman-owned. Veteran-owned. A legacy headliner of Harvest Host Fest!
Day 4 - Encore: Four Sisters Ranch Vineyard & Winery
ONE. MORE. SONG!! Give the curtain call to all the sisters (and their parents who are the actual wine makers) at Four Sisters. As the sun sets on this, the inaugural Harvest Host Fest, what better way to commemorate the experience than with an actual vineyard sunset.
Drop the mic.
